KRAL VE BİLGE
1. BÖLÜM
Once upon a time, a kingdom was happy and rich.
Bir zamanlar mutlu ve zengin bir krallık varmış.
Its king was loved by all.
Oranın Kralı herkes tarafınan seviliyormuş.
Everyone lived well under his rule.
Onun yönetimi altında herkes iyi bir yaşam sürermiş.
But one year, a bad famine hit.
Ancak bir yıl, kötü bir kıtlık yaşanmış.
Crops died without water.
Mahsuller susuzluktan ölmüşler.
Farmers couldn’t pay the king.
Çiftçiler krala ödeme yapamamışlar.
This made the king’s treasure empty.
Bu durum kralın hazinesinin boş kalmasına neden olmuş.
He worried a lot about the state’s costs.
Devletin giderleri konusunda çok endişelenmiş.
After the famine, things got normal.
Kıtlıktan sonra işler normale dönmüş.
But the king still worried.
Ama kral hala endişeliymiş.
He always thought, “What if famine comes again?”

He also feared other things.

Like his ministers plotting against him.

These fears made him lose sleep, hunger, and thirst.

One day, a wise sage visited him.
Bir gün bilge bir (adam) onu ziyarete gelmiş.
The king shared his troubles.
Kral kendi sıkıntılarını paylaşmış (anlatmış).
He asked the sage for advice.
Bilgeden tavsiye istemiş.
The sage said, “Your worry is about ruling.”
Bilge şöyle demiş: “Senin endişen, hükmetmekle ilgili.”
“Why not give the throne to your son?”
“Neden tahtı oğluna vermiyorsun?”
The king replied, “But my son is just five. It can’t be done.”
Kral cevap vermiş: “Ama benim oğlum henüz beş yaşında. Bu olmaz.”
“Then give me your worries and the throne,” suggested the sage.
“O halde endişelerini ve tahtını bana ver,” diye önermiş bilge.
The king agreed happily and gave his throne to the sage.
Kral bunu memnuniyetle kabul etmiş ve tahtını bilgeye vermiş.
The sage then asked: “What will you do now?”
Bilge ardından sormuş: “Şimdi ne yapacaksın?”
The king thought of doing business.
Kral iş yapmayı düşünüyormuş.
But the sage reminded him:
Ama bilge ona şunu hatırlatmış:
“The treasury is now mine. What about money?”
“Hazine artık benim. Peki ya para?”
“I’ll find a job,” said the king.
Kral, “Bir iş bulacağım” demiş.
“Why not work for me?” offered the sage.
“Neden benim için çalışmıyorsun?” diye bilge teklif etmiş.
“I’ll live simply. You stay here and manage things for me.”
“Ben basit bir (hayat) yaşayacağım. Sen de burada kal ve benim için işleri yönet.”
The king accepted. He ruled as if it was his job.
Kral kabul etmiş. Sanki bu onun işiymiş gibi yönetmiş.
After some days, the sage returned.
Birkaç gün sonra bilge geri dönmüş.
He asked the king, “How are you now?”
Krala “Şimdi nasılsın?” diye sormuş.
“Can you eat and sleep well?”
“Yemek yiyip rahat uyuyabiliyor musun?”
The king was amazed.
Kral şaşkınlık içindeymiş.
“I eat well and sleep deep. I do the same work.”
“İyi yemek yiyorum ve derin uyuyorum. Aynı işi yapıyorum.”
“But I feel different. I don’t understand why.”
“Ama kendimi farklı hissediyorum. Nedenini anlamıyorum.”
“The sage explained, “Before, you saw ruling as a burden.”
“Bilge açıklamış: “Daha önce yönetmeyi bir yük olarak görüyordun.”
“It was always on your mind.”
“Bu her zaman senin aklındaydı.”
“Now, you see it as a duty.”
“Artık bunu bir görev olarak görüyorsun.”
“That’s why you work without worries.”
“Bu yüzden endişelenmeden çalışıyorsun.”
2. BÖLÜM
After learning to rule without worry, the king’s life changed.
Kaygısızca yönetmeyi öğrendikten sonra kralın hayatı değişmiş.
He felt light and happy.
Kendini hafiflemiş ve mutlu hissediyormuş.
The kingdom thrived under his carefree rule.
Krallık onun kaygısız yönetimi altında gelişmiş.
But one day, a neighboring king planned to attack.
Ancak bir gün komşu kral saldırmayı planlanmış.
The king was informed but he didn’t worry.
Krala bilgi verilmiş ama o endişelenmemiş.
He calmly prepared for defense.
Sakin bir şekilde savunma için hazırlanmış.
He gathered his advisors and made a plan.
Danışmanlarını toplayıp bir plan yapmış.
He trained his soldiers and strengthened the walls.

All this, he did without fear.

The day of the battle arrived.
Savaş günü gelip çatmış.
The king led his army with courage.
Kral ordusuna cesaretle liderlik etmiş.
The battle was tough but the king’s army won.
Savaş çetin geçmiş ama kralın ordusu kazanmış.
The people praised the king’s bravery.
Halk kralın cesaretini takdir etmiş.
They were amazed at how calm he was.
Onun bu kadar sakin olmasına şaşırmışlar.
The king smiled and said, “I just did my duty.”
Kral gülümsemiş ve “Ben sadece görevimi yaptım” demiş.
After the battle, the kingdom was peaceful again.
Savaştan sonra krallık tekrar barışa kavuşmuş.
The king continued to rule without worries.
Kral endişe duymadan yönetmeye devam etmiş.
He enjoyed his days, always calm and happy.
Her zaman sakin ve mutlu günlerinden keyif alıyormuş.
He often met with his people.
Halkıyla sık sık buluşuyormuş.
He listened to their problems and helped them.
Onların sorunlarını dinliyor ve onlara yardımcı oluyormuş.
His kingdom became known as the land of happiness.
Onun krallığı mutluluk ülkesi olarak anılmaya başlamış.
One day, the sage returned to see the king.
Bir gün bilge kralı görmek için geri dönmüş.
He saw the king happy and the kingdom peaceful.
Kralın mutlu ve krallığın ise barış içinde olduğunu görmüş.
The sage smiled, knowing his advice had worked.
Bilge, tavsiyesinin işe yaradığını bilerek gülümsemiş.
The king thanked the sage.
Kral bilgeye teşekkür etmiş.
“Your wisdom has brought peace to my heart and my kingdom,” he said.
“Senin bilgeliğin kalbime ve krallığıma huzur getirdi” demiş.
The sage replied, “You learned to carry duty, not worry.”
Bilge cevap vermiş: “Sen endişelenmeyi değil, görevi yerine getirmeyi öğrendin.”
“That’s the secret of a peaceful life.”
“Huzurlu bir yaşamın sırrı budur.”
3.BÖLÜM
Years passed, and the king grew wise and content.
Yıllar geçti, kral bilgeleşti ve tatminkar oldu.
He ruled his kingdom with a peaceful heart.
Krallığını barış dolu bir kalple yönetti.
The kingdom prospered, and the people were happy.
Krallık refaha kavuştu ve insanlar mutlu oldular.
One day, a great celebration was planned.
Bir gün büyük bir kutlama planlandı.
It was for the king’s son, who turned ten.
Bu, kralın on yaşına gelen oğlu içindi.
The whole kingdom was invited to join the festivities.
Bütün krallık şenliklere katılmaya davet edildi.
The day was filled with joy and laughter.

There were games, music, and dancing.
